The Glen Affric Duathlon
SPAR Scotland will be the Major Sponsor of the 2019 Glen Affric Duathlon.
The Glen Affric Duathlon is fast becoming one of the more popular events in the Highland sporting calendar. The event created and still organised by SMG members was held successfully between 2004 and 2009 then in 2015 with an expanded team of organisers (increased from 1 to 4!) it returned to the Glen Affric National Nature Reserve.
The course, although testing, welcomes both seasoned athletes and beginners who will be inspired due to the fantastic surroundings. Taking place in early May we can almost guarentee several seasons in one day! The event comprises a 7.5 mile hill run followed by 18 miles on mountain bikes and then a final 2.5 mile cross country run.
The event gets tremendous support from the local community with help setting out the course and of course marshalling - upwards of 50 people involved for no reward.
