The Croft is a spacious house in a large wildlife friendly wooded garden, situated well off the road. It is perfect for families, children and dogs, and everyone wanting to escape from a busy city life!

It has a turf roof, mix of stone and wooden floors with underfloor heating and an open plan, very well equipped kitchen / living area with a wood-burning stove. There are three bedrooms: one with a king size bed, one with two singles, and one with a double bed and a double sofa bed. There are 2.5 bathroom/showerroom/ toilets. There is also a table tennis table and BBQ and outdoor seating.

A climb up into the wood behind the house gives access into the Glen Affric Nature reserve itself and there are any amount of walks and cycle routes, from the door, or by exploring the three spectacularly scenic local glens, Glen Affric, Glen Cannich and Glen Strathfarrar.

Barn owls, tawny owls and bats nestclose to the house, and can be heard at night and seem hunting over the garden at dusk. Buzzards, kites and red squirrels are often seen from the house and a huge variety of small birds use the garden for nesting and feeding. Badgers, pine martens, brown hares and foxes frequent the garden leaving tell-tale droppings and field signs and are easily caught on well-placed camera traps!

Guests will have the house and garden to themselves, however dog owners please note that the garden is not contained by a fence and other dog owners will pass on the track about 150m away. There is no mobile reception at the house but a good wifi connection, and a large flat screen TV with great speakers and hdmi connection for personal laptops. There is also an extensive, quality book collection.

Tomich village has a wonderful café and pub and is a 5-10 minute walk from the house. The local spar shop in Cannich is very well stocked and Beauly (25 miles away) is highly recommended for shopping with a traditional butchers, bakers, delicatessen and good co-op store.

Children of all ages are very welcome but please note that there are two ponds and a river accessible from the garden and toddler guards are not provided for the stairs or wood burning stove. Linen, towels and bath mats are provided.

We have lived in the area for over 25 years and will be very happy to help you with route finding and wildlife spotting!

We operate a NO SMOKING policy within the properties.
